Monday 4:00pm – Wednesday 5:30pm From basic to the more advanced techniques, learn all about your serger while making a series of cute and useful projects! Five projects in two and half days…No way…YES WAY!!! Kathy will guide you through a Sweet Little Baby Quilt with a coordinating Sweet Little Pillowcase, Two Knit Baby Bonnets (One Boy Bonnet and One Girl Bonnet) and a Serge-N-Flip Sewing Caddy.
Your Sweet Little Baby Quilt is the perfect project to get your sergin’ feet wet and show you just how easy piecing is with your serger! Even if you don’t need a baby quilt you can take these techniques home with you to create a quilt of any size. This lovely quilt has an heirloom center (or not - if you would rather leave plain to add a monogram), surrounded by sashing, borders and cornered with bowtie blocks. Can you bind a quilt using your serger? Absolutely! You just have to know the secrets. Kathy adds a matching pillowcase to complete the ensemble.
Serger Bonnets are oh so little but you learn oh so much! Sewing with knits can be tricky. Understand differential feed, needles, cover stitch, lettuce edge and more while making these little cuties. This quilt-as-you-serge Serge-N-Flip Sewing Caddy introduces you to a great technique using your serger while making the handy caddy.
Serger techniques Include: Zippers, Piping, Binders, Serger Tucks, Flatlocking, Heirloom, Overlock, Cover and Chain Stitch, Quilting, Rolled Hems, Serging with Knits and much, much more! All materials, instructions and patterns included in class fee.
