The perfect background can turn a simple focus piece into a stunning one. Creative Background classes offer a wide variety of techniques (including tiled, mosaic and woven backgrounds) that will widen your options as you create unique and wonderful works of art. In this class, we will explore creating a simply curvy woven project along with basic stitching and quilting options, add applique and create a stunning curvy background that will give your focal point just the right amount of punch. Bring your own fabric or purchase optional kit; see supply list.

Advance Prep: Make sure your machine is clean and in good working order. If you have not attached a free motion quilting foot or darning foot or walking foot on your machine before, check your manual and get familiar with how these feet attach and work with your machine.
Supply List:
Sewing machine, power cord, foot petal, walking foot, darning or free motion quilting foot, thread, basic sewing supplies (iron, scissors, cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter) Two different fabrics that compliment each other sizes 7 x 17 inch, batting (low loft) at least 9 x 19 inch, stabilizer 9 x 19 inch, Backing fabric 9 x 19 inch, focus fabric for applique (i.e. flowers and/or butterflies), binding fabric (5 inch x WOF), fusible web (enough to back two weaving fabrics and applique focus cut outs.

Order at least one week before the class to allow plenty of time for shipping. (if you are ordering less than one week before the class, you are welcome to join the class as scheduled, and follow along with the recording once the kit has arrived as you will have access to the recorded class for one year.)
