Who says quilting must be done on a longarm? With master quilter, Catherine Redford, you will learn how to finish your quilts with your domestic sewing machine, while enjoying all the control your walking foot has to offer. We will begin with a discussion of the factors that lead to success, including pressing and basting. Then, stitch samples of different styles including matchstick quilting, grids, combined stitches, and serpentines. Elevate your technique with beautiful organic curves. Learn how to execute sharp turns and make accurate straight line polygon spirals. Round out the workshop with circular spirals. You’ll also find out how Catherine adds hand stitching to her quilts and finish with a look at her beautiful work for inspiration to go home and turn your tops into finished quilts.
Bring your own fabric; see the supply list for details.
Please note: this day-long class provides the same information as the combination of Catherines two 3-hour walking foot quilting classes, Walking Foot Quilting: Get Out of the Ditch and Walking Foot Quilting: Organic Curves and Super Spirals.
