What is a serger? How does a serger work? Why do I need a serger? We will answer these questions and more as you use the new Bernina L890 to make a cozy, child/teen sized hoodie. We will start with the anatomy of a serger to give you a foundational knowledge of what is going on under-the-hood so that you feel comfortable with the serger and understand the strengths and weaknesses of the machine. Next, we will talk about troubleshooting and work through the steps to not just get a stitch but to get the perfect stitch. Finally, we will move on to our project. We will play to the strengths of the serger by serging on a comfy soft jersey knit. We will put together the entire hoodie, start to finish on our serger. You willl be surprised just how quick and easy it is.
