If you love leggings (especially the soft ones from the brand that starts with “L”), why not learn to make them for yourself? They’re fun, fast and easy to make…on a serger! In the process, you’ll discover why sergers are the perfect machine for sewing knits, learn some simple tricks for making bands instead of hemming and make a no-casing elastic waistband for the fastest, easiest construction ever. See how to cut out and work with stripes as well, so that you can make banded leggings that are all the rage. This is a great class for beginners or for those that want to see why sergers are so great for sewing all kinds of knits. Bring your own fabric; see supply list for details.
Using McCall's 6173 cut out for style B or cut out your New Look pattern. Additionally, cut 2 pieces that are 12 inches wide x 2 inches high for the bands.
Scissors, pins and 1 inch wide elastic for waistband. Optional: One cone of serger thread to match your fabric. The Expo provides cone thread for class use in the following colors: white, black, gray and ecru.
