Every décor needs a touch of elegance and this pillow slip fits the bill! Learn to create easy cathedral windows that highlight a fussy cut or embroidered focal piece; use decorative stitching for construction; and utilize a super easy technique for closing a fabric cylinder. Simply slip your created masterpiece around a 12” x 16” travel pillow and tie the ribbons to hold it in place. Bring your own fabric; see supply list for details.

  • Advance Prep:

    1. From the 1/4 yard of quilter's cotton fabric, cut the following: 

    a. Two pieces 9 x 18-1/2 inch

    b. Two pieces 8 x 2-1/4 inch

    2. Plug in/turn on iron.

    3. Have cutting station nearby with rotary ruler and cutter. 

    4. Print instructions from "File Link" found in Order Confirmation email.

  • Supply List:

    Two 15 inch squares of base cathedral window fabric (muslin in pictured sample), 1/4 yard of non-directional quilter's cotton fabric for the body of the pillow slip (blue/pink floral in pictured sample), One 18-1/2 x 25 inch rectangle of fabric for the lining, Focus fabric for the inside of the cathedral window (blue/pink floral in pictured sample): Fussy cut a 4-3/4 inch square on point with the selected print centered. Remember that part of the fabric on each side of the square will be obscured by the cathedral window., Four yards of 7/8 inch- 1-1/8 inch wide ribbon, One travel size pillow form (12 x 16 inch) (can complete project prior to purchasing), Sewing thread to match or blend with base fabric, Sewing thread to match or blend with body fabric, 40-wt. embroidery thread for decorative stitching (light blue in pictured sample), One 4-1/2 inch square of Steam-a-Seam2, Lightweight tear-away stabilizer (just in case), Size 80 Universal or Microtex Sharp needles, Open Toe Foot (optional for feather-stitching), That Purple Thang, wooden skewer or other stiletto, Point Turner. Standard Sewing Supplies (scissors, pins, seam gauge, tape measure, etc.), Sewing Machine in good working order
