Whether you are new to fashion design, or already use a body double, discover the art of garment fitting with a unique hands-on experience led by expert fitter and designer, Joe Vecchiarelli. Class will start by transforming your dress form into a personalized bodice sloper, essentially your body double. Using your measurements as the foundation, you will learn the process of padding the dress form to ensure an accurate reflection of your individual contours. Next, Joe will teach the fundamental steps for draping. Whether designing a blouse, jacket, or dress it’s important to understand how fabric falls on the body. Joe will guide the class as you pin and practice multiple draping techniques with muslin, transcending the limitations of flat paper patterns while creating a three-dimensional master pattern that is tailored just for you.
