This quilt will feed your creative side or challenge it because it is all about simple shapes, minimal number of fabrics, and a simple construction method making it easy to follow. See the endless design possibilities with half-square “triangle-squares” which are built without sewing triangles. The most critical elements for successful quilts, value, and color, are discussed in the class. Be prepared to be amazed with this one. Bring your own fabric; see supply list for details.

    Fabric requirements:

Fabric selections is quite important. There are two fabrics in the quilt center, a floral print and background fabric. The floral print has huge flowers, not too many colors, and still has a lot of background. The background fabric, this is the other fabric for the quilt center, is one that reads solid-but it needs to have some texture - and the color comes from the main fabric but this time it is one that is all over. The outer border is one that works well with everything in the quilt center without overpowering it - its job is to frame the center piece. The binding can be the same as the outer border. Then there is the accent border which is a very subtle color from the floral print.

WOF - width of fabric is assumed at 41-inches

    • Floral print - 1/2- yard
    • Background - 2/3-yard
    • Inner border 1/4-yard
    • Outer border 1/2-yard

    • Backing 1 1/4-yard
