Have fun with wool felt appliqué and some wonderfully easy hand embroidery. No turning or edge finishing, just go straight to the fun and creativity of embroidery, with dimensional petals and beaded accents. We'll do a simple central motif and add some progressive borders that will allow you to play and build on stitches without having an overwhelming project to finish. Bring your own fabric; see supply list for details.
All welcome.
Cut (6) 4-inch felt squares
Jill used a mix of crewel wool, 6 ply cotton floss, 2 mm silk ribbon and #8 pearl cotton. She also used size 11 seed beads, small bugle beads and a few specialty beads along with the appropriate needles. Bring a nice mix of fibers and we'll play. Also needed: 4-inch felt squares for sampler "pages" (bring extras); Frixion® pens to mark the felt, chalk pencil if working on dark colors; scissors; pin cushion; 6.5-inch square ruler; felt pieces in the background and flower colors of your choice. Jill used colored pencils to "pink up" one layer of felt and will demonstrate her technique. She also loves and uses Sulky® Stick N Stitch, also known as Sticky Fabri-Solvy and will demonstrate its use.
All basic stitches and numerous variations, start dimensional flower.
