Cynthia favors button closures in her blouses, shirts and jackets. But she isn’t so fond of the standard buttonhole design or construction. What she uses – and enjoys most -- are bulk-free, almost invisible buttonholes, constructed as part of the seam. She calls them “slot buttonholes”. Learn how to take existing patterns and convert them, so you, too, can enjoy these easy-to make closures. Create patterns two ways during class: use a pattern with a center fold, where no closure now exists, and convert an existing button-front garment to one with vertical slot buttonholes. It’s a hands-on pattern experience you’ll refer to for years to come.
