Using images of quilts past and present, Marianne celebrates the elements all quilts, and quilters, have in common. Doors open at 6:30pm for you to purchase food and drinks and mingle with friends while you enjoy a private viewing of the Quilt Show and listen to live music. The program begins at 7:00pm with prizes, the Quilt Show awards ceremony and Marianne's keynote address.
ABOUT MARIANNE FONS
Marianne Fons is well known to quilters nationwide as a longtime public television host of Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting and as an author and lecturer. She often appears with her daughter Mary Fons, also a nationally known quilter and writer.
With Liz Porter, Marianne authored Quilter’s Complete Guide, one of the best selling quilting books of all time, published in 1992. Together, the two women co-founded Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting magazine in 1996.
Marianne has served on the board of directors of Quilts of Valor® Foundation for many years, co-producing two documentaries about the organization, “Quilts of Valor,” in 2012, and “Quilts of Valor II" in 2015, both with Iowa Public Television. She helped establish the Iowa Quilt Museum in 2016, and in 2017 reopened the Iowa Theater, both in her hometown of Winterset, Iowa.
