In an era of casual, oversized fashion, many of us have lost the "eye" for what a truly well-fitted garment looks like. This one-hour foundational class is designed to reset your perspective, acting as both an essential primer for beginners and a vital refresher for experienced sewists who want to achieve professional results.

  • • The Anatomy of a Seam: Learn the professional standards for seam placement. We’ll discuss proper placement of seams and how they should "hang" on the body to create a balanced, comfortable garment.
  • • The Language of Grain & Balance: Understand how the direction of the fabric grain affects how a garment drapes and why "balance" is the secret ingredient to a professional look.
  • • Decoding Wrinkles: Not all wrinkles are created equal. You’ll learn to distinguish between "tight" and "loose" wrinkles—and more importantly, what they are telling you about your fit issues.
