Spiral Patchwork is the innovative piecing method developed by professional sewing educator Linda McGehee. In this creative lecture you’ll see wonderful wearables, wall hangings, table runners, and accessories made with Linda’s Spiral Patchwork technique.

Linda starts with strip piecing, using just two fabrics or as many as thirty, then will demonstrate how to sew the strips into a tube or spiral. When the spiral is opened, the patchwork design remarkably repeats with no fabric waste. Linda promises, “What looks so involved is actually quite simple.” You can match the strips for one look or miss match for an entirely different look. The selection of fabric color, width of strips, and piecing process that makes the difference.

You’ll learn how to get new angles by “shift cutting” with a ruler, add couching and decorative threadwork for more artistic details, plus create the illusion of corded piping between the spirals on a serger. “Bring your sense of adventure to class. It’s one of those techniques where you really can't go wrong!”
