Are you intimidated when altering a lined jacket or blazer? Would you like to be able to alter jackets for you or someone you know? Are you thinking about doing alterations as a business? Pattie, with 35 years of alteration experience, will show you how to do three basic jacket alterations: lengthening or shortening sleeves, adjusting the back of the jacket for a better fit and shortening a lined jacket. Her techniques include simple templates for accurate seaming and where to use fusible interfacing. You will work on a practice garment to help perfect your technique. Other alternations will also be discussed: Altering men’s pants, hemming pants and other formal wear garments, and resizing suit coats including shortening the sleeves at the shoulder.
Material fee includes: Templates, interfacing and instructions
