North Texas Quilt Festival

August 22, 23 & 24, 2019

Please submit your entry by June 7. You may enter up to three (3) quilts at this time, or submit entries individually up until the deadline, with a limit of three (3) entries per person.

PART TWO: Quilt Submissions

• Enter up to three quilts by June 7, 2019

• If more than one quilt is entered, an additional $25 fee per quilt will be billed

• Entrants ages 18 and under are considered Juniors and should complete the Junior's Form found HERE

ENTRY #1:

Note: each entry is entered into ONLY one category under one division. Choosing multiple divisions or categories is NOT allowed.

My quilt belongs in the Artisan Division because all of the following are TRUE:

1. My quilt entry is clearly either Pieced or Appliqued;

2. my quilt is NOT a Group Quilt (made by 3 or more people);

3. my quilt is NOT an Art Quilt, Modern Quilt, Crazy Quilt, Cathedral Window Quilt, Redwork Quilt or uses antique fabrics, printed panels, wholecloth fabric, or is painted or embellished with mix media elements;

4. I have never been classified as a Master in the past;

5. I have never engaged in a quilting event or quilt making activity for monetary profit earning more than $2,000 in a year;

6. I have NOT formally taught quilt making or wearable art techniques, or quilted professionally for money;

7. I have NOT published a pattern or book on quilt making techniques.

My quilt belongs in the Master Division because any of the following are TRUE:

1. I have been classified as a Master in the past;

2. I have engaged in a quilting event or quilt making activity for monetary profit earning more than $2,000 in a year;

3. I have formally taught quilting, quilt-related or wearable arts techniques, or quilted professionally;

4. I have published a pattern or book on quilt making techniques;

5. my quilt entry is clearly either Pieced or Appliqued;

6. my quilt is NOT a Group Quilt (made by 3 or more people);

7. my quilt is NOT an Art Quilt, Modern Quilt, Crazy Quilt, Cathedral Window Quilt, Redwork Quilt or uses antique fabrics, printed panels, wholecloth fabric, or is painted or embellished with mix media elements.

My Quilt belongs in the Open Division because:

1. I used a Kit or Block-of-the-Month to create the quilt-top;

2. my quilt is NOT a traditional Pieced or Appliqued quilt-top;

3. my quilt is an Art Quilt;

4. my quilt is a Modern Quilt;

5. my quilt uses other mixed techniques such as the use of household and/or antique linens used as the top or blocks, machine or hand embroidery, cathedral windows, crazy quilt techniques, has digitized printing, is painted, has redwork embroidery, is a wholecloth, and uses yo-yos;

6. my quilt is a Group Quilt where three or more persons contributed to the making and/or quilting of the quilt.

PART THREE: Traveling Display

Original Sewing & Quilt Expo will choose a group of quilts to create a traveling exhibit called 'Best of North Texas Quilt Festival' to be shown at OSQE events in late 2019 & early 2020. The quilts will travel up to one year and will be securely handled by OSQE at all times. If selected, you will be asked to give written permission and given further instructions at that time.

PART FOUR: Entry Fees

General entry fees are $25 per quilt.

After your quilt(s) entry is approved, you will receive a bill (via email) with a link to make a payment by credit card. The email will be from Original Sewing & Quilt Expo and the email address will be from invoicing@messaging.squareup.com

I agree to abide by all conditions stated on this entry form and the accompanying Entry Instructions. I also grant North Texas Quilt Festival and Original Sewing & Quilt Expo the right to display and to photograph these entries for publicity or promotional purposes in either print or electronic media. I understand I am responsible for my own insurance on any and all items. I understand that no responsibility for loss or damage to my entry will be assumed by North Texas Quilt Festival and Original Sewing & Quilt Expo, it's officers, agents, staff or volunteers. North Texas Quilt Festival and Original Sewing & Quilt Expo will take all reasonable precautions to protect your quilt (s).
