The Beat Goes On
Carol Hancuh
“And the beat goes on”…If you grew up in the 1960’s you already know that that decade was full of events and new styles of music. IF you’re younger than that, you’ve heard music from the 60’s your whole life. Music was born by California fun, civil rights turmoil, new musical groups and singers, the hippies and flower people, protest songs, folk singers, anti-war songs. Listen closely and you will hear some songs that relate to the quilts. Do you remember them? What a complex era!
Take home a message: Give peace a chance. If you could apply that to your daily life, then this exhibit was a success. I wish you well.
