Learn more about using a serger, including how to get creative with a variety of threads, and have some fun creating a custom garment. You’ll leave with a flattering, easy-to-wear jacket. Finished. You’ll probably wear it out of class!

The Kennewick Jacket you will make is timeless. By design, the back panel is a perfect opportunity for you to showcase a treasured textile, a bit of hand or machine embroidery or a special focal-point fabric. As the jackets in class come together, you’ll discover why this style is so very wearable, and flatters every body type and shape --especially when you use a soft, drapey rayon. You will also discuss and explore how to create multiple garments and styles from a single pattern, each one unique, an artful, versatile, stand-alone wardrobe favorite.

Begin class with a little trunk show as you plan your garment and complete your personal cutting chart. Then you’ll dig right into creative serging! Learn to balance your stitch for flatlocking with Pearl Crown Rayon, how to create the perfect rolled edge with Sulky rayon -- including a fun tassel embellishment -- and more. Bring your own fabric, see supply list for details.  Actual class time is 1:00-5:00pm and 6:00-9:00pm.
