Bring at least two patterns for which you would like to draft a lining pattern – a jacket or perhaps a skirt. Consider bringing patterns with plackets, kick pleats and other details which require a little extra thought when creating linings. You’ll complete at least one, possibly both in class, learning guidelines for creating them on your own while you work. Because how you draft the pattern plays a part in the insertion process, you’ll finish the class by learning how to execute some trickier areas, such as where hem, facing and lining meet in a jacket front, and in the zipper and pleat areas of the skirt. Bring shoulder pads if you use them.
